WGA League play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In addition, the following Local Rules apply and are in effect for all competitions unless otherwise noted.
Tree Root Protection (Relief from Dangerous Condition)
If a player’s intended swing may be interfered with by a tree root that could cause injury, the player is permitted to take relief.
Relief is taken under Rule 16.1 (Abnormal Course Conditions). The player must determine the nearest point of complete relief and may place the ball within one club-length, no nearer the hole.
Drainage Ditch — Hole #17
The drainage ditch to the right of the cart path up to the 150 yard marker on Hole #17 is treated as an abnormal course condition.
A player may take free relief under Rule 16.1. The player must determine the nearest point of complete relief and drop within one club-length, no nearer the hole.
Lift, Clean and Place (Preferred Lies)
When a player’s ball lies in their own fairway, the ball may be lifted, cleaned, and placed.
The ball must be placed within one scorecard length (8 inches) of its original spot, no nearer the hole. The ball must remain in the same area of the course (fairway).
