Weekly Events
Weekly events are held on Tuesdays with 9AM shotgun start. For the entire season, each player selects a set of tees, green or gold. Only members 80 or older may select the gold tees.
Signup sheets list are posted in the womenâs locker room bulletin board for the upcoming month.  For each weekly event a member chooses to play, she needs to mark âyesâ bedside her name on that weekâs signup sheet.  The deadline for signups is NOON the Saturday before the event. The Tournament Chairperson collects the signup sheets from the bulletin board. On Sundays, she organizes the group with starting hole assignments. Using email, she publishes the weekly lineup including details on the game format and special awards.Â
Winners will be announced before golf on the next Tuesday and posted on the WGA bulletin board and website. Most events are divided into two flights with net score winners. Occasionally, low gross awards are also included. Approximately, one-third of the participants are winners, e.g., Two flights, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc, net winners. Ties are determined by USGA process, total last 9 holes, last 6, last 3, 18th hole score. Event prizes are points for routine weekly events and cash for major tournaments. Additional club credit awards are often offered for chipâins and closestâtoâtheâpin. Â
Seasonal Points
Most Tuesday events award points, e.g., 3 points for 1st place, 2 points for 2nd place and 1point for 3rd place. The awarded points are accumulated throughout the season and converted into cash awards that are given out at the April General Membership Meeting.
Speed Up Play
A player’s ball may be picked up on a bad hole and an X used for the hole score. A player who does not complete a hole may be ineligible for a prize on that date, depending upon the game format. If a four-some falls more than one hole behind, the group needs to split up into 2 groups/2 players each and keep playing until the there are no open holes ahead of them. Then, they can get back together as a four some.
Guests
Guests are welcome to play on Tuesdays up to three times in one season with a maximum of two times per Club Rule. Guests may not compete in the tournaments.
Birdies
November 1st thru April 1st – When a player has a natural (gross) birdie on any hole during Tuesday play, she writes her name, hole number, and date achieved on the birdie sheet in the women’s locker room. Players may include multiple birdies on a hole.The three members with the most birdies receive a cash prize ($25, $15, $10) at our season end General Membership Meeting.
Hole-In-One Fund
New members pay $2 to this fund. When a WGA member has a hole-in-one during Tuesday play, she receives a maximum of $200 from the Hole-In-One Fund. When the fund is paid out, each WGA member will be required to pay $2 to replenish the fund.
